It's not JUST about what I had for breakfast...

Oh, No, Tomorrow Starts December!

And I haven't even STARTED November!  Well, here goes:

Barker Valley Spur Trail (Nov. 3, 2017)

This was near the glider port by Warner Springs.

View of Lake Henshaw, somewhere back there.

To complete the panoramic circle.

Brown Field (Nov. 4, 2017)

Just driving past the airport on the way to the junk  yards.

Invisible Hummingbird. I ran back for the camera, but he had disappeared.  This picture should be AFTER the panorama of the Three Rangers, below.

Three Rangers (Nov. 4, 2017)

Cat at doctor's office (Nov. 8, 2017)

This cat was nosing around that tire for quite a while.

Out on El Tae Road the trail was closed (Nov. 9, 2017)

Later, in La Mesa, I feigned interest in a tree until a muggle passed by and I could get the geocache.

Airplane Monument Trail (Nov. 8, 2017)

View of where we parked.

View of where we parked (Selfie)

We were on a hike with a group, and I had an energy problem, or something, so we did not complete the hike.  We did find some geocaches on the way back down, though.  And, and one of those caches...

Giant ants!  It's THEM!!!!

Base of Iron Mountain (Nov. 14, 2017)

A spur of the moment decision sent me over to Iron Mountain, where there were like, ten cars, maybe.  I walked around the trail to the base, found several geocaches, didn't find one, and headed back to the vehicle before it got dark.

Repositioned myself, and zoomed in a bit.

Later, at home, I staged this pic, to the amusement of several.

Hunte Parkway In Eastlake (Nov. 18, 2017)

Someone was mesmerized by the view?

In Rural Poway (Nov. 19, 2017)

We made our way to the remains of an old house, over a hundred years old, I believe.  All that is left is the chimney and the basement.

So here are two pic of the chimney.

A view of a hill of the top of the basement wall.

In the ruins of a nearby outbuilding there was a mason's old tool. (EDIT: Corrected the grammar after a comment from the peanut gallery.)

Geocache in a tree.  Fortunately, a low tree.

I changed my desktop picture to this one of Hank. It cheers me immensely. You can read about Hank on his website.  I think there is a Facebook page, too.

Balboa Park (Nov. 24, 2017)

Phillip and I at Balboa Park.  We found some geocaches, I think I may have convinced him he needs a smart phone...

I took this picture of my old old paint bottles to make some point on the internet.

Sycamore Preserve (Nov. 28, 2017)

Our route through the preserve, and back again.  Looks like we walked 5.73 miles!  Wow!

Obligatory selfie at the crossing.  We were lucky to find it, I would have missed it completely, even though there was a geocache at the trailhead, naming the crossing, and I had found it way back in 2010...

It even had a nameplate!

View of the crossing without my mug.

Walker Preserve Trail (Nov. 29, 2017)

I do not understand how clothing appears in the bushes in a preserve, one would have to toss it over the fence a good distance.  Just, weird!

Some big globs at Shadow Hills Park.

Some sort of sap leakage?

While I was in Santee I filled up the vehicle with gasoline. It took 11.1786 gallons, at $ 3.059/gallon, for a total cost of $ 34.19.

The odometer reading at fill-up was 43,122 miles.  The trip odometer was 297.1, so my calculated gas mileage from the previous fill is:  26.6 MPG?  No, I don't think so!

That looks like it for November, unless I manage to do SOMETHING today!

October Catch-up!

My internet speed

My friend and I took a drive in his new Mustang up to the mountain road around Palomar, and visited the big telescope.

I was looking at a town in Texas that a friend was visiting and saw this nifty B&B with an assortment of "rooms"  This is one of them.

We have a bird that comes and visits nearly every day, running into the mirrored windows, and pecking at his reflection, I guess.  I haven't got a good pictures yet, but these I took on one morning visit.

How many more, you cry?

I forget what this is

Someone at the Queen Mary Geo Coinfest logged the trackable on my vehicle, and sent me this picture.  Neat!

Amtrak boasts of its improved seating.  Where's armrest between seats, I ask?

I polished up my Buck knife, with wax.

Now it is purty!

I ran across these Oz pics, I don't know who created them.

Well, that is about all for October, I guess!
